Navigation Guide

Overview

Understanding the navigation structure helps you move efficiently through the application. This guide explains the layout, navigation elements, and how to find what you need.

Top Navigation Bar

Logo & Branding

  • Avid Health Logo: Click to return to dashboard
  • Left Side: Always visible, provides home navigation

From left to right:

  • Dashboard: Home icon, returns to dashboard
  • Notifications: Bell icon, shows notifications
  • Patients: Users icon, opens patient list
  • Intake: Clipboard icon, access intake (admin)
  • EVV: Calendar icon, EVV management (admin)
  • Billing: Dollar icon, billing dashboard (admin)
  • Chart Creator: File icon, chart creator (admin)
  • Form Builder: Form icon, form builder (admin)

Right Side

  • Profile Menu: User profile and settings access
  • Notifications: Notification center (if separate)

Patient Chart Sidebar

When viewing patient charts:

  • Patients List: Left panel with patient list
  • Toggle Button: Show/hide patient list
  • Search: Search patients in list
  • Filter: Filter patients (if available)

Settings Sidebar

In settings pages:

  • Settings Menu: Navigation menu on left
  • Settings Categories: Profile, Organization, Team, etc.
  • Active Section: Current section highlighted

Main Content Area

Content Structure

  • Header: Page title and description
  • Actions: Primary actions in header
  • Content: Main page content
  • Footer: Additional information or actions

Responsive Layout

  • Desktop: Full layout with sidebars
  • Tablet: Adjusted layout, collapsible sidebars
  • Mobile: Single column, toggle buttons for panels
  • Location: Usually at top of content area
  • Shows: Current page hierarchy
  • Clickable: Click to navigate to parent pages
  • Helps: Understand current location

Tabs

Used in several areas:

  • Settings: Different settings categories
  • Patient Chart: Different patient views
  • Billing: Different billing views
  • Dialogs: For focused tasks
  • Side Panels: For additional information
  • Overlays: For quick actions

Finding Features

  • Command Palette: ⌘ K for global search
  • Page Search: Some pages have local search
  • Filter Options: Use filters to narrow results
  • Top Bar: Main navigation icons
  • Sidebar: Context-specific navigation
  • Settings Menu: Settings navigation

Mobile Navigation

Mobile Layout

  • Bottom Navigation: Quick access to main features (if available)
  • Hamburger Menu: Main menu access
  • Panel Toggles: Show/hide side panels
  • Swipe Gestures: Navigate between panels (where supported)
