Learn how to use the dashboard to manage your organization and track performance

Dashboard Overview

Overview

The dashboard is your central hub for managing your organization, tracking performance metrics, and accessing key features quickly. The dashboard adapts based on your role (administrator or clinician), showing relevant metrics and actions for your responsibilities.

Accessing the Dashboard

The dashboard is the default page when you log in. You can also access it by:

  1. Clicking the Avid Health logo in the top navigation
  2. Navigating to / from any page
  3. Using the Command Palette (⌘ K) and selecting "Dashboard"

Dashboard Layout

The dashboard consists of several key sections:

Header Section

  • Title: "Organization Dashboard" (for admins) or "Your Dashboard" (for clinicians)
  • Description: Brief overview of your responsibilities
  • Quick Access Buttons:
    • Command Palette (⌘ K): Quick navigation to any feature
    • Onboarding Assistant: AI-powered help for getting started

Metrics Cards

The dashboard displays key performance indicators (KPIs) in card format:

For Administrators:

  • Total Patients: Number of active patients in care
  • Team Members: Total employees in your organization
  • Visits This Week: Number of scheduled visits for the current week
  • Total Revenue: Estimated revenue from patient visits
  • Active Alerts: Number of alerts requiring attention
  • Pending Tasks: Tasks awaiting review

For Clinicians:

  • My Patients: Number of patients in your care
  • Upcoming Visits: Visits scheduled for the coming week
  • Pending Tasks: Clinical tasks that need completion
  • Overdue Tasks: Tasks past their due date
  • Completed This Week: Tasks completed in the current week

Charts Section

Two visual charts provide insights into your organization:

  1. Visit Trends (Last 30 Days): Line chart showing visit volume over the past month
  2. Patient Status Breakdown: Pie chart showing distribution of patient statuses

Quick Actions Section

Quick access cards for common tasks:

Available to All Users:

  • Chat with Billie: Get help with billing and operations
  • View Patients: Manage patient information and care
  • Schedule: View and manage appointments
  • Upload Timesheet: Submit timesheet for processing

Additional Actions for Administrators:

  • Setup Integrations: Connect external tools and services
  • Patient Intake: Add new patients to the system

Additional Actions for Clinicians:

  • My Patients: View patients in your care

Using Quick Actions

Quick action cards provide one-click access to frequently used features:

  1. Click on a Quick Action Card to navigate directly to that feature
  2. Cards are organized in a responsive grid layout
  3. Hover over cards to see visual feedback
  4. Cards are color-coded: primary actions have highlighted styling

Command Palette

The Command Palette (⌘ K) provides keyboard-driven navigation:

  1. Press ⌘ K (Mac) or Ctrl K (Windows/Linux) from anywhere
  2. Type to search for features, actions, or pages
  3. Navigate using arrow keys
  4. Select with Enter
  5. Close with Escape

Available Commands

  • Quick Actions: Chat with Billie, Billing Dashboard, View Patients, Schedule
  • Admin Commands: Patient Intake, Integrations, Chart Creator, Form Builder, Workflows
  • Navigation: Jump to any section of the application
  • Search: Find specific features quickly

Onboarding Assistant

The Onboarding Assistant provides AI-powered guidance for new users:

  1. Click "Onboarding Assistant" button in the dashboard header
  2. Chat Panel Opens on the right side
  3. Ask Questions about using the platform
  4. Get Guidance on setup, workflows, and features
  5. Close Panel when finished

The assistant can help with:

  • Setting up your profile
  • Configuring integrations
  • Understanding workflows
  • Learning about features
  • Troubleshooting issues

Understanding Metrics

Metric Cards

Each metric card displays:

  • Icon: Visual indicator of the metric type
  • Title: Name of the metric
  • Value: Current value (number or currency)
  • Description: Brief explanation of what the metric represents

Metric Updates

  • Metrics update in real-time as data changes
  • Values reflect current organizational data
  • Metrics are filtered by your organization
  • Some metrics may require refresh to see latest data

Charts and Visualizations

  • Shows visit volume over the past 30 days
  • Helps identify patterns and trends
  • Useful for capacity planning
  • Updates automatically as visits are scheduled

Patient Status Breakdown

  • Visual representation of patient distribution
  • Shows percentages and counts
  • Helps understand patient population
  • Useful for resource allocation

Tips & Best Practices

Dashboard Usage

  • Regular Review: Check your dashboard daily for updates
  • Quick Navigation: Use Quick Actions for common tasks
  • Command Palette: Learn keyboard shortcuts for efficiency
  • Metrics Monitoring: Track key metrics regularly

Customization

  • Dashboard content is role-based (automatically customized)
  • Quick Actions adapt to your permissions

Performance
